Unique, Versatile Spaces
The barn offers several distinct spaces for customizing your dream gathering.
The Dance Hall: our main venue space, named for the antique brass sconces reclaimed from, you guessed it, a former dance hall. Seat 80 guests for dinner, or open up the whole floor for a fabulous cocktail-style fete!
The Loft: our upper-level perch overlooking the venue— a perfect setup for DJs, or photographers hoping to capture overhead shots of the action
The Meadow: A sprawling ceremony site with 360 degree views of our wildflower meadow and forest.
The Bar: providing a sultry spot set away from the dancing area— the perfect place to order up a Black Walnut Old Fashioned, Kings Highway Spritz, or a glass of local wine before heading back to the dance floor.
The Rosé Garden: Our ‘secret garden’ with antique stone benches and garden furniture, in its own hidden-away nook.
The Lawn: With close proximity to the barn, the Lawn ceremony site gives you the woods feel but the convenience of being close to the party and a stunning forested backdrop.
The Lounge: our hidden nook on the mezzanine, with a stunning gallery wall, antique leather lounge seating, Persian rugs, a hifi turntable with curated vintage vinyl record collection, and our 1940s phone booth re-imagined as an audio guest book.
The Shed Bar: Tucked inside an Amish garden shed lives a hidden bar! Perfect for cocktail hour, desserts, favors or other treats.
The Forest: Tucked away in the forest, a magical ceremony site complete with natural arbors and lush green trees and shrubs.
The House
The stone farmhouse is the heart of Black Walnut Farm. Built by Dutch settlers in 1747 as an original “stop house” on Kings Highway, this lovingly curated home sleeps 8 comfortably and will leave you dreaming of a bygone era. Yet, it’s been updated with all the modern conveniences (shout-out to air conditioning!).
